Pow! Frockabilly (the world’s premier queer-run, straight-friendly vintage club night) is back…..and this time it’s got super-powers! On Saturday February 16th, Envy (above Charles Street Bar) will be the venue for a massive ‘comic book super-hero[ine] special’ with live music, vintage visuals, super-hero[ine] snacks, queer shenanigans, and some of the best rockin’ DJs in the UK!

Bop! DJ Lonesome M (Frockabilly/Honey Hush/Traumfrau) and guest DJs including Vicki Lester (Transfabulous/Melbourne Festival/Club Wotever) and Citizen Lane (The Devil’s Music/Hot Tamales) will bring you a night of kick-ass super-hero[ine] sounds that will make you want to fly around the room! Your usual Frockabilly hostesses will be joined by the crew from Traumfrau (Brighton’s newest queer night for girls and their friends), and will be around all evening to help you find your inner super-hero[ine]. Doors open at 10pm [but join us from 9pm for a pre-club party downstairs in Charles Street Bar]. There’ll be drinks deals, badges, sticks of Frockabilly rock, dressing up, and all the usual Frockabilly stuff and nonsense!

Zap! Top of the bill will be Derriere, who play a mix of rockin’ blues, sleazy R&B and vintage soul. This band, whose second single,‘Give It Up’ was released earlier this year, have appeared on Mark Lamarr’s radio show, and are regulars at major British and European festivals.

Whether you have super-strength, super-speed, the power of flight, or you just simply wear your knickers outside of your tights, your super-powers will be celebrated at this one-off Frockabilly special!

This event is the official end-of-show party for the 20thAnnual Lesbian Lives Conference. However, you do not have to be a conference delegate to attend and, as with every Frockabilly event, it is open to all, regardless of gender or sexuality. Wear what you like. Dance how you like. Kiss who you like.
