12th Feb 2011
Latest Musicbar, Brighton
A Women's Performance Tent production
The team behind the Women’s Performance Tent at Brighton Pride has joined forces with the 2011 Lesbian Lives Conference to present 'Love Revolution' - a packed evening of live music and entertainment for Valentine’s weekend, raising funds for Brighton Women's Centre at the same time.
Running over two floors at the Latest Musicbar, 'Love Revolution' takes its theme from the 2011 Lesbian Lives Conference: 'Revolting: Bodies, Politics and Genders' - the world’s only annual academic conference in Lesbian Studies, now in its eighteenth year and being held in Brighton for the first time.
Upstairs there's a live lineup to tickle everyone's musical tastebuds: mashups and mayhem from Brighton's queer ukulele outlaws Qukulele; harmonious melody-led acoustic-rock from Linten Splinters; strong vocals and musicianship from feel-good favourites Greymatter; and electronic soul to get you dancing with Heads.Hearts.
Your compere for the evening is Cat Harding, golden-toned presenter of Radio Reverb and Loop TV.
Downstairs you can chat and chill out, and later there will be midnight cabaret from Nicky Mitchell, with DJ Cat until 2.00am.
