LIGHT is an interdisciplinary University of Brighton project that brings together Dr Joan Farrer at the Faculty of Arts in collaboration with Principal Investigator, Dr Iain Allan, with colleagues from the School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences, Dr Irina Savina and an emerging researcher, Dr Cressida Bowyer.
The project aims to produce photo-responsive dressings for the non-invasive treatment of chronically infected skin wounds and, ultimately, skin cancers and other topical ailments.
The work is funded under the university's Research Challenges Scheme for a total of £46,000. The duration of the project is 12 months from April 2012.
