During the Art on the Downs project University of Brighton art students collaborated with a womens art group from a local council estate to make three large permanent sculptures on National Trust land. The sculptures are entirely made from sustainable natural materials found on site on the South Downs. The artists were supported by National Trust rangers during construction.
The project lasted for three years and was directed by Alice Fox (Course leader Inclusive Arts Practice, University of Brighton) with support from local artist Sue Nunn.
The project was funded by the University of Brighton, Community University Partnership Project.
