Media Research at Brighton critically engages with some of the most exciting and pressing issues of our time, exploring the effects of changes in media technologies and practices upon everyday life, the cultural and creative economy, politics, social well-being and identity.We lead a supportive and developmental research environment, encouraging both disciplinary and transdisciplinary approaches to the study of media. We also encourage research that engages with businesses, communities, policy actors and NGOs.

Research Degree Funding
Funding opportunities for students wishing to pursue PhD studies are currently available through TECHNE, our AHRC-funded Doctoral Training Partnership, as well as the University of Brighton studentship scheme. Both schemes offer fully-funded doctoral studies (stipend and fee waiver), but eligibility criteria applies.
