Nada has studied Freud's writing on space and carefully surveyed his apartment in Vienna as well as his collection in Maresfield Gardens (in Hampstead). She then made exquisite survey drawings that put the possessions back in his Vienna apartment (working from Edmund Engelman's photographs that he took just before Freud left Vienna for London). Through making these drawings the spatial arrangement of people and things unfolds what might be seen as an analysis of Freud. Her story of this construction is beautifully woven through a process of thinking through the drawings and a careful scholarship of his writing. Nada has also been designing spaces for the Museum of Jurassic Technology in Los Angeles, a collection of wonder.
Time to be confirmed.
