"Researching jewellery and accessories in relation to the culture of modernism"
Simon will talk about researching his forthcoming book Jewellery in the Age of Modernism 1918-1940: Adornment and beyond, to be published by Bloomsbury later this year, as well as his emerging research project on Dada, jewellery and accessories.
‘“The Materialisation of Persuasion”: propaganda design in Britain
In this informal session Harriet will introduce new research she is developing during her current Rising Stars Award (2017-18) into exhibitions designed to communicate messages of propaganda and resistance, mounted in public spaces from workers’ canteens to church halls, from the interwar to the early postwar period in Britain.
