Sir Norman Rosenthal (born 1944) is a highly regarded and world leading curator. He was a freelance Curator at the Institute of Contemporary Art in London and from 1977 to 2008 was Exhibitions Secretary at the Royal Academy. In this post over more than 30 years he curated a cycle of groundbreaking blockbuster exhibitions covering contemporary twentieth century art and pre-twentieth century art, placing the Royal Academy in the front rank as a world venue for the visual arts.
The ‘conversation’ will cover various aspects of his work and practice as a curator including his values and opinions on art practice today in open dialogue with the audience. The event will be guided and chaired by Peter Seddon and will last until approximately 5.00pm. The event is free and open to staff and students from the faculty.
