The conference will take place in the Grand Parade and Pavilion Parade buildings at the University of Brighton.
We strongly advise that you come to the conference by public transport. The venue is in walking distance of Brighton Train Station and Brighton Coach Station at Pool Valley. Local buses also serve the town centre frequently. Parking in the centre of Brighton is problematic and the car parks are expensive. If you feel it is necessary to bring a vehicle then you will find a map with car park locations here.
You will find directions to the Grand Parade Building and Pavilion Parade Building here.
You will find all sorts of useful tourist information about Brighton at the Visit Brighton web page.
Getting around
Most of you will be staying in hotels close to the University and the conference. If you are booked into a hotel in Kemptown or the City centre, this is probably the case. If you are staying further afield, perhaps out in Hove, you can catch a bus along Western Road (the main shopping thoroughfare) to the conference. You’ll want to ask for either a City Saver ticket which gives you unlimited travel on Brighton and Hove buses all day see here
Or a ‘Centrefare’ ticket which gives you unlimited travel within the city centre all day see here
Get off the bus outside the Royal Pavilion, which is just across the road from the University. Numbers 25 and 49 both travel along Western Road to the Pavilion as do many other buses, and there should be one along every 5-10 minutes. Bus drivers appreciate the correct fare or thereabouts.
Of course if it’s reasonable weather you may enjoy walking along the seafront to the conference. Just head East from Hove, West from Kemptown and turn inland when you reach the pier.
