School of Media Film and Screen Studies Open Lecture
Aris Mousoutzanis (Film and Screen Studies)
Sebastian Beaumont (Student Services)
Following the success of the open lecture on ‘Women and Early Filmmaking’ in support of the International Day of the Girl Child, our course team will be running a series of open lectures that illustrate our teaching and research while building further links with our community.
Our next lecture explores the ways in which disability and mental health have been historically represented onscreen by introducing major principles and arguments from disability studies and trauma theory.
The lecture will be followed by a response on the subject by Sebastian Beaumont from Student Services and we are also hoping to start a dialogue with our audience as well.
