Eighteen projects featured in Digital Film Archive Fund weekend, 27-28 November.
What is an archive film? How can we use old films in a digital age? How can archive films inspire new community projects, stimulate the making of new films and make us think differently about the past?
The Digital Film Archive Fund was set up by the UK Film Council to increase public access to and awareness of our regional screen heritage. In the South East, 18 projects were awarded grants by Screen South. This two-day showcase provides an exciting opportunity to discover the many ways in which communities, young people, organisations and filmmakers have engaged with archive film. Each session will be hosted by Dr. Frank Gray, Director of Screen Archive South East.
The intention of the Archivia showcase is to launch a new interest in the many ways that archive film can inspire and entertain. A detailed programme of the weekend's screenings is available on the CINECITY Archivia website.
