Raphael Gallery at the V&A, Cromwell Road, South Kensington, SW7.
Creative Quarter 2012 at the V&A presents a live Fashion show to celebrate student work from University of Brighton. Fashion Design with Business Studies BA(Hons) is a single title which represents all of Brighton’s Fashion courses. Fashion with Business Studies prepares students for work in fashion design and fashion related industries.
Students will showcase a sample of work produced from their first year as part of this course. First year fashion design projects introduce students to the basics in flat pattern cutting and draping on the mannequin and the appropriate manufacturing procedures for producing these garments.
These projects aim to give students a greater understanding of the fashion design process, from research and design development to realisation in final fabric. Students are encouraged to explore a range of contemporary approaches to design in menswear and womenswear, providing a sound basis and context for a personal way of working. Students whose work will be on show:
