New Crypt Gallery venue hosts students' work.

University of Brighton Faculty of Arts Textile graduates' launch event proved a huge success this year with some big fashion industry names attending including WGSN, the world’s leading fashion trend forecaster, Jaegar, H&M, Arcadia Group, Monsoon, and a range of textile design studios.
Lecturer and researcher in textiles, Kirsty McDougall said: “Colleagues from other universities also attended and gave very positive feedback about the show.
“It seems to have created a real buzz, and the Crypt gallery space showed the students’ work in an exciting and new way.
The Textiles with Business Studies courses prepare students to become versatile textiles practitioners, able to work with printed, knitted or woven textiles for industry.
Students select from two distinct pathways leading to BA(Hons) or MDes depending on their specific needs and interests.
The teaching team led by Kirsty McDougall, who also runs her own award-winning company, Dashing Tweeds, offers expertise in research skills, concept development and the production of a specialist textile sample collections or textiles products with an application beyond fashion.
