Two to receive funding in support of their final year work.

Two final year, MDes Textile Design students for the University of Brighton Faculty of Arts have been awarded bursaries from The Worshipful Company of Framework.
Elinor Pierce received a £2,500 bursary and Sophie Jensen a £1,000 award. Both students submitted proposals and underwent a rigorous interview process to achieve success.
Each year, UK design institutions throughout the UK are asked to recommend two potential recipients for the award from their knitted textile courses, so having two students chosen from the same course at Brighton is an exceptional achievement. This is also the third year in succession that Brighton students have been recognised in the awards. Researcher and lecturer Toni Hicks said: “We are very proud that both our students were selected as recipients for this award.”
The Worshipful Company of Framework Knitters is livery company that offers annual bursaries and awards aimed at students of design, management, marketing, textile conservation, science and technology.
The Bursary winners are invited to the company’s Livery Banquet where they are presented with their parchments and are offered Membership of the Company with a view to becoming ‘Liverymen’ at a later date.
