Emma Brook's design selected for national Campaign for Wool's annual Wool School.

A jumper designed by University of Brighton Faculty of Arts Fashion and Textiles student Emma Brooks goes on sale from today at West End stores to coincide with Wool Week – 14-20 October.
Emma, who is in her second year and will shortly take up a work placement at John Rocha, is one of only 12 students selected to take part in the Wool School. Her entry was chosen from hundreds received from university fashion departments across the UK. The selected students have each produced a jumper design in collaboration with a range of UK designers, in Emma’s case, Margaret Howell selected her as a partner.
Talking about her experience, Emma said: “Wool School has been an amazing opportunity from the onset. I have learnt more about the benefits of pure wool through collaborating with a respected fashion brand and seen my winning design through to manufacture.
“Working with Margaret Howell gave me a fantastic insight into their manufacturing process. I met the production manager and knitwear specialist and attended the fitting once the first hand-knitted jumper was received. They were keen for me to be involved, keeping as close to my design as possible. Having that first contact with industry and exposure through the Campaign for Wool has been incredibly exciting and helpful as I embark on my placement year.”
