Brighton Textiles students teamed up WGSN to help predict textile trends 2012/13
15 Aug 2013
Textiles students from the University of Brighton collaborated on a knit and weave Material Direction project with WSGN, the world's largest trend prediction organisation, as a response to their autumn/winter 2012/13 forecast.
Structured and regular pattern frameworks, emphasising architectural arrangements, can be seen in the work of students Katie Butt and Sarah Pugh, while Harriet Toogood, who also won a place at the prestigious Texprint competition, incorporates plastic refuse sacks to demonstrate the use of rehashed materials. The idea of laboratory-grown material is also explored.
WSGN commended the students on the high standard of the their work and plan to use examples in their upcoming forecasts.
