The Creative Digital Research Group (C-DiG) is an interdisciplinary, cross-college research nexus that is concerned in general terms with how the arts, humanities and design drive and enhance creativity and innovation in technological practices.
This work is always arts-led, innovation-focused and interdisciplinary and often involves a convergence of qualitative computing, big data, complexity and new forms of human-centred design practices.
Thematic strands around which communities of practice have emerged include:
These themes engage with some of the most exciting issues of our time, exploring digital disruption; the unwanted effects of advances and changes in media technologies upon everyday life; and informing digital transformation, how we can design purposefully for creative digital outcomes.
In this way we aim to account for the preservation and evolution of ideas, identities, communities, histories and practices to maintain individual and socio-cultural well-being as part of a sustainable, ethical and human-centred technological future.
