MIRA CALIX BIOGRAPHY
Mira Calix is signed to Warp Records, on which she has released five albums. Although her earlier music is almost exclusively electronic in nature, in more recent years, she has incorporated classical orchestration into her work for installation pieces, film soundtracks, theatre and opera. Mira has been commissioned to write new works for the London Sinfonietta, Bang On A Can, the Aldeburgh Festival, Opera North and The Manchester International Festival amongst others. In the autumn of 2009 she won a British Composer Awards for her composition, ‘My Secret Heart’. In 2009 Mira Calix was also awarded a ‘Grant For The Arts’ by the The Arts Council Of England, to develop her skills in orchestration in collaboration with composers; Tansy Davies and Larry Goves.. Mira is a featured artist on the Creators Project, for whom she recently collaborated with United Visual Artists on an in installation for the Coachella Festival in California. is currently working on a new album with singer songwriter Malcolm Middleton, formerly of Arab Strap

Robert Black tours the world creating unheard of music for the double bass.
He collaborates with the most adventurous composers, musicians, dancers,
artists, actors, and technophiles from all walks of life. He is a founding
member of the Bang On A Can All Stars. Check out his solo CDs on Mode
Records (The Complete Bass Music of Christian Wolff and The Bass Music of
Giacinto Scelsi) and his All Stars recordings on Cantaloupe Records. You can
study with him the Hartt School-University of Hartford, the Manhattan School
of Music, and the Festival Eleazar de Carvalho in Fortaleza, Brazil.
