A screenwriting workshop and networking day for the creative industries
The University of Brighton invites you to ‘Stories for Screen’, bringing together a community of academics, broadcasters, digital minds, writers and thinkers in a day of creative workshops, discussions and screenings on storytelling for Film and TV. With two strands offering the best ideas in drama and documentary, the focus is on stories that sell, writing that works and thinking that matters.
The event is the first under a new initiative which aims to introduce the Faculty of Arts as a careers resource for the creative industries in the South East, opening doors for students and industry to network, inspire and learn from each other. Documentary and drama writing workshops, exhibitions of digital art and dance alongside a 'Dragon's Den' panel of industry professionals aim to show off the Faculty of Arts' vision of twenty-first century academia, and open the door to a new era of partnership with the Creative South East.
Industry experts already confirmed include scriptwriters Nick Fisher (New Tricks), Sean Cook (Spooks) and Graham Duff (Ideal); documentary film makers Jerry Rothwell (Donor Unknown) and Daisy Asquith (My New Home); Head of Development and Executive Producer in Drama at Fresh Pictures, Philippa Collie-Cousins and BBC Editorial Policy Advisor on Independent Factual, Bryony Mortimer.
