There's always something on at the Faculty of Arts
The University of Brighton Faculty of Arts is a centre for great work in the arts. From Grand Parade at the heart of Brighton's cultural quarter we run an important theatre and gallery complex, arts cafe bar, short courses and community projects which reach into the vibrant world of one of Britain's most famously arts-focused cities.
A key representative of arts in Brighton, the faculty brings international celebrity visitors from every sector of the arts world, with conference speakers, lectures and literary events; arts outreach and inclusive arts practice, eco-architecture; gallery events in 2d and 3d arts, performance and sound art; design archive and screen archive events and exhibitions; short courses, student productions and a venue for local and national theatre. Our students present in exhibitions and performances in Brighton, London and beyond, while students and staff (former and current) promote the arts worldwide in their ongoing careers.
In the Sallis Benney theatre and University Gallery, major retrospectives of internationally renowned artists sit alongside exhibitions of student projects at all stages of their courses. It hosts a range of performing artists and visiting speakers, including events at the Brighton Festival and the annual Graduate show.
