University of Brighton Gallery and Sallis Benney Theatre

The Sallis Benney theatre and University of Brighton gallery provide spaces for top-quality visual and performing arts in the centre of Brighton. Located at the Grand Parade Campus, the venues have seen a range of artistic and academic use, featuring world leading artists, performers, guest speakers and academics.

The 272-seat theatre has held Brighton Festival performances, fashion shows, talks by internationally renowned designers and artists and sell-out addresses by visiting and faculty lecturers.

The University of Brighton Gallery has recently seen major retrospectives of William Kentridge and Bernard Schottlander as well as providing space for coursework exhibitions throughout students' years with the faculty. In 2009 it was the venue for a major exhibition of successes at the Faculty of Arts & Architecture, which celebrated 150 years since its foundation as Brighton School of Art.
