A rare Victorian magic lantern from Screen Archive South East's collection is part of a special exhibition at the Musee d'Histoire de la Ville de Luxembourg titled 'Poor Luxembourg?'. which challenges the viewer to consider past and present approaches to this social problem.
A section of the exhibition focuses on how poverty was represented in early documentary cinema, recreating the magic lantern experience by showing rare films from the late 19th century. For more information, visit the exhibition website.
