Graphic Design BA(Hons) student Christian Widlic has just secured a prestigious internship with the world-renowned design partnership Sagmeister & Walsh. The New York based firm creates identities, commercials, websites, apps, films, books and objects for its clients.
Stefan Sagmeister has had an impressive career to date, having worked for the Rolling Stones, The Talking Heads, Lou Reed, and The Guggenheim Museum. His design work has also been exhibited worldwide. Partner Jessica Walsh has received various distinctions such as Computer Art’s “Top Rising Star in Design,” and an ADC “Young Gun”.
Graphic Design lecturer Phil Taylor said: “We are delighted for Christian, Sagmeister & Walsh liked him so much they want him to start his internship early!”
Christian, who says he has learned a lot from two previous internships in Norway, said: Sagmeister & Walsh is one of my favorite design studios, so it means a lot to me. It is quite surreal to think that I will be working and living in New York, especially with such talented and inspiring people.”
