A new graphic novel, Montague Terrace, co-produced by University of Brighton Faculty of Arts MA Digital Media Art graduate Warren Pleece with brother Gary Pleece has gone on sale this month to critical acclaim.
Begun by Warren for his final MA show in 2010, the novel centres around a crumbling 1930s apartment block as a setting for all kinds of darkly humorous tales about its diverse occupants. The novel was chosen as Graphic Novel of the Month by The Guardian and the Observer and has been reviewed in The Telegraph and by Paul Gravett in April’s Art Review.
In the 1980s, Warren Pleece studied Illustration at the then Brighton Polytechnic and drew his first comics for Escape magazine, before starting my own magazine Velocity with his co-writer brother Gary. He has worked for UK and US publishers, including 2000AD, DC Comics, Dark Horse Comics and many more.
Montague Terrace is published by Jonathan Cape.
