Dr Catherine Harper's research receives a Foundation for the Scientific Study of Sexuality Award

Dr Catherine Harper has received an award from the US-based Foundation for the Scientific Study of Sexuality to support research for a chapter of her forthcoming book Fabrics of Desire (commissioned by Berg for 2009). This research is already supported by the AHRC and the Sasakawa Foundation, but the FSSS Award specifically supports her development of an oral archive of testimonies from UK lesbian civil partners relating to their choice of dress for their 'special day'. This work has already informed papers presented at conferences in the UK, Australia and Ireland, as well as an invited chapter for the Fashion in Fiction (UTS Sydney, due 2008).
