Paul Burgess (School of Arts and Communication) recently won the Guardian Magazine’s weekly ‘In Pictures’ photographic competition. His photograph of aged Sex Pistols fans at a concert at Brixton Academy last November captured perfectly the moment youth meets middle age.
Paul Burgess is the author of the book ‘Satellite: Sex Pistols Graphic Design and Memorabilia’ (Abstract Sounds Publishing 1999) and has contributed regularly various music and design publications. He is an adviser to Sotheby’s on the subject of ‘Punk Graphics and Clothing’ and has written numerous articles on the subject in the music press. He has worked with the Sex Pistols on many occasions as graphic designer and photographer.
