The Voice Laboratory based at the University of Brighton is a new research project which aims to explore the voice across arts and sciences, linking practitioners and thinkers, in an interdisciplinary network. The Voice Laboratory currently involves a group of visual artists, composers, designers and performers whose work collectively spans the practices of installation, extended vocal technique, computer simulation, opera, and visual scores.
The symposium will present a series of voice experiments, performances and discussions initiated by: Sam Belinfante, Nick Collins, Amy Cunningham, Conall Gleeson, Mikhail Karikis, Lore Lixenberg, Claudia Molitor, plus invited guests.
Associated Universities: University of Brighton, University of Sussex and Slade School of Fine Art, University College London.
