Soundwaves Festival is no ordinary music festival. Taking over Brighton for three days, the public has the chance to dip, or dive, into an alternative world of cutting-edge new-music, sound-art, and participatory experiences that will intrigue and inspire!
For those not yet acquainted with the strange and captivating world of new-music, then the line-up for 2010 is a perfect introduction to the UK’s most admired sound experimentalists, visual artists, and musical pioneers. But for those that are familiar with artists such as Micachu, Mikhail Karikis, the London Sinfonietta and Apartment House, then there’s no excuse
Whether an untamed student, new-music aficionado, or just a curious punter: everyone will find something to immerse themselves in at this year's Soundwaves Festival. The main performances will take place at the Sallis Benney Theatre in Brighton University, and further multi-arts events will take place at Jubilee Square where the public are free to wander through the Sonic Forest or bump into a Flash-mob Opera. To get even more hands on there’s the opportunity for anyone to upload a graphic score to be performed during the Sunday evening event, or simply download a specially commissioned Audio Walk that will alter your perception of Brighton's Jubilee Library forever!
