The students ingeniously built a stage set as a background to the talks with no money. All material, including paint, was sourced through Brighton branch of Freegle -an organisation that specialises in recycling waste material.
The design, made to fit in with the idea of the generation gap, is made up of two walls reflecting each other on either sides of the stage. The students began by cutting old chairs in half, making a feature of the sectional cut and built structural walls. Most of the work was completed in the university studios and workshop before being transported down to the site. This allowed the entire setup to be completed in only 4 hours.
