Born and brought up in rural Sussex, Silvan attended The University of Brighton for three years studying WMCP (Wood, Metals, Ceramics and Plastics) 3D Materials Practice, focusing on ceramics with visual research. She graduated in 2009 and had part of her degree show collection purchased by The Aldrich Collection.
She is currently showing at both local galleries and in London and is due to take part in many national exhibitions.
