Screen Archive South East begins european film heritage online project
The EUscreen project has made more than 30,000 televisual items available to view online. The project’s successor, EUscreenXL, has released further investment to build on Euscreen's success and increase online accessibility to European film heritage.
The project will extend the core collection by adding a further 20,000 high quality TV and film items. It will also make more than 1 million metadatasets (from the 22 partners collections) searchable and accessible on Europeana.eu to serve broadcast professionals, media researchers and the general public.
Screen Archive South East is the project's UK content provider and has been awarded 53,885 Euros to fund its content delivery. As part of the project, SASE will catalogue and deliver up to 1000 previously uncatalogued films to the project's core collection. These films will become accessible to the public for the first time across Europe and beyond, through the EUScreen online resource and the wider Europeana portal.
