A new film collection has arrived at Screen Archive South East from the Edward James Foundation at West Dean College. Featuring amateur footage from the 1930s and television productions from the 1970s, the collection provides a fascinating portrait of Edward James, his life and his passion for Surrealist art. One of these programmes 'The Secret Life of Edward James' will be screened at the annual
West Dean House open weekend 30 April and 1 May, 2016.
West Dean College, an educational centre for the creative arts and conservation, was founded thanks to the vision of Edward James, a patron of Surrealist art and an advocate for the preservation of traditional heritage and craft skills.
