Joseph Emberton Collection

To compliment the exhibition 'Joseph Emberton – The Architecture of Display' at the Pallant House Gallery in Chichester (18 Feb – 17 May 2015), Screen Archive South East presents a short compilation of films made by this most significant British architect of the 20th Century. For 20 years SASE has been the custodian of these family films which capture not only his beloved family life, his wife, daughters and their Surrey home but also images from his trips abroad and some of his architectural designs.

The Emberton designs featured are the Funhouse (Blackpool Pleasure Beach), the British Railways Pavilion at the Empire Exhibition in Glasgow (1938), and the Blackpool Casino (1939).
