Brighton & Hove’s all-night cultural festival took place on Saturday 30 October when the clocks went back, marking the end of British Summer Time and giving the city’s artists and curators an extra hour to entice the public with an array of special events.
The Screen Archive South East and Cine-City partnered with local magic lantern aficionados to recreate the spectacle of a live lantern performance as it may have appeared over a century ago. More than 400 people saw the indoor screenings in a former chapel of rest on Church St., while 1,500 more enjoyed them from outside.
