Elinor Cleghorn

Elinor Cleghorn is a writer and curator. She completed her PhD at the London Consortium, Birkbeck College, with a thesis exploring the implication of the choreographic body in the cinematic practice of Maya Deren, Lotte Reiniger and Loie Fuller. Elinor has participated in a variety of international research events and symposia, and has given talks on Deren's filmmaking at the Moves dance on screen festival, Camden Arts Centre and Nottingham Contemporary gallery. She has been invited to give guest lectures on her research at Central St Martins, the Ruskin School and the University of Kent, and has recently contributed to the Visual Arts and Performance BA at the University of Brighton. In October 2011, Elinor curated 'Maya Deren: 50 Years On', a programme of events, screenings and discussions held at the British Film Institute to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Deren's death.
