University Gallery
Exhibition
This exhibition is about the Brighton Pavilion Hospital for Limbless Soldiers where, from 1916-1919, over 6,000 men were admitted for treatment, recuperation and retraining. It includes images and text from the soldiers' publication, Pavilion Blues, and explores their local experience as adult learners at the purpose-built Queen Mary Workshop, and the Art School. Using material from the Royal Pavilion and Museums, Brighton and Hove, and the University of Brighton Design Archive, its historic interest resonates with contemporary debates about war, disability and military rehabilitation.
Open to all. Admission free.
