Recent Acquisitions of Graduate Work to The Aldrich Collection
With the annual Graduate Show 2013 approaching we have taken the opportunity to put together a display that highlights works acquired for The Aldrich Collection selected from previous Faculty of Arts’ Graduate Shows.
The Aldrich Collection, founded by Michael and Sandy Aldrich in 1995, constitutes a series of art and design works primarily by students and staff from the University of Brighton Faculty of Arts as well as its distinguished institutional precursors in art and design education which goes back over 150 years. It has been established with the express intention of reinforcing and further developing public recognition of the Faculty of Arts as a quality provider of art and design education in Britain and a recognised national centre for creativity, innovation and research in the visual and performing arts.
"We started and continue to support the Aldrich Collection as a way of illustrating the broad diversity of creative and artistic talent at the Faculty of Arts." Michael Aldrich 2013
To date, the Aldrich Collection has a strong representation of work from recent graduates and we are delighted to include some of the pieces here which span a number of courses at the University of Brighton and also offers a taster to the variety of work that will be on show in the Graduate Show this year.
The Graduate Show 2013 is open Saturday 1 June – Thursday 12 June, all are welcome to explore and examine the work on show when the University of Brighton Faculty of Arts’ Grand Parade campus turns into the largest exhibition space in the South East showcasing the emerging talent of our graduates.
