The University of Brighton Design Archives is pleased to announce the opening of 'Design Research & Its Participants' in the gallery space of the College of Arts and Humanities. It has been curated by
Dr Lesley Whitworth to accompany the fiftieth anniversary conference of the Design Research Society which takes place next week here at Brighton.
The displays include audio and digital material, as well as photography, posters, albums, correspondence, and myriad other forms of visual and text-based document from across the record groups of the Design Council, ICSID, Icograda, Anthony Froshaug, FHK Henrion and WH Mayall archives, all from our local collections, alongside loans from DRS members. The exhibition concerns a period when many design-informed bodies came into being, and the message of the displays is one of mutual support and multi-faceted engagement by individuals across these groups.The exhibition is on until 1 July, and opening times are 10 – 5 Monday to Saturday, and later during the conference itself (27-30 June). All welcome.
