University of Brighton’s second year B.A. Hons Fine Art students are pleased to present In Between, Part 2, a group exhibition bringing together the degree practices of Sculpture and Painting.
This exhibition aims to showcase divergent art practices, which individually and collectively draw attention to contemporary discussions and debates. In Between, contains artworks that introduce the engaging themes of: sustainability, historical investigation, lived human experiences and communication in the digital age.
Paintings within the exhibition cover a broad range of approaches and use of materials from traditional oil paint to the use of gelatin. While an eclectic mix of Sculpture is presented which uses found, natural, constructed and hand crafted objects but also employs materials that change form over time. In Between seeks to confront and challenge artistic conformity presenting passionate artwork that embodies the fresh perceptions of a new generation. The exhibition offers a rich and vibrant new body of work.
In Between Sculpture, In Between Painting – this show creates a space in the middle, highlighting the position of the 2nd year BA(Hons) Fine Art students who are at the mid-point in their degree.
