Third Year Painting Student’s from the University of Brighton are showcasing their current work before they graduate. Eight innovative visual artists are exploring painting and it’s meaning today.
The exhibition explores the notion of abstraction in the contemporary illustrating how abstraction has transcended beyond the frame of painting. The chosen artists’ employ the idea of the fashionable through the visual dialogue of today. The show has a varied approach to abstraction through painting, sculpture and 2-D relief work. This show examines the space between the commodification of the art object and the pictorial language of the frame. It shift’s the definition of the both abstraction and the idea of the frame to form a new language within painting. Exhibiting artists:
