Specialist national employment charity Tomorrows People is celebrating its 25th Anniversary this year. Since 1984 we have helped over 400,000 long-term unemployed people on their journey back to work. East Sussex is the home of Tomorrows People, where the charity first began twenty-five years ago. Brighton has high numbers of both short and long term unemployed people and we are currently working within the community to help young people with various barriers to work to overcome their problems and move forwards into education, employment or training.
We are delighted that in East Sussex we have a dedicated Vice Patron team, led by Peter Field, Lord Lieutenant of the county, to support our work and we believe that with their guidance our success in the region will continue to grow. We also believe that with the challenges of the current economic situation and beyond, the support we provide to the long-term unemployed in Brighton and the wider East Sussex area will be as much in demand as ever.
The 25th Anniversary reception will take place in the Sallis Benney Theatre on Grand Parade on June 30th to mark the occasion, and will be attended by Tomorrows People staff, former clients, individual supporters and partner organisations all of whom help Tomorrows People to help unemployed people turn their lives around through work.
