Sallis Benney Theatre
A chair. A stool. A red watering can. A shiny floor. Alive to thesounds of mechanical toys, creaking handles, buzzing bees.
Enter five clowns. Big clowns. Small clowns. Sad clowns.Mischievous clowns. Together they act out the hilarious drama
of their wordless universe.
Wireless is the latest show from Danish children’s theatre
company Patrasket. With an ensemble cast drawn from theworlds of mime and European physical theatre, they dream up‘little wonders’ of creative invention – playful and unpretentious.
As they play, fight, laugh and pratfall, the clowns try to makesense of their world. A world where nothing is quite as it seemsand everything is possible. Where cardboard boxes have mobilephone potential. Where the simple task of putting out chairsbecomes a chessboard battle of wit and cunning.
Devised by French director Catherine Poher – four time winnerof the country’s premier theatre award Reumertprisen – Wireless is a balancing act of comedy, mime and music that speaks to the humanity in all of us – whatever our age.
