Anglo-Japanese Collective and Tea Ceremony with Akemi Solloway
Drinking tea is part of many cultures; however, it is in Japan that this simple act has been elevated to an art and philosophy. Come and join in this most Japanese of activities.
The Anglo-Japanese Collective, a group formed by The South-West Anglo-Japanese Society to perform traditional Japanese music on traditional instruments as well as experimenting with more modern forms of music for the instruments. Playing for the 'Collective' in this afternoon’s concert is renowned Shakuhachi (Japanese bamboo flute) player Michael Coxall and Chieko Mori on Koto (stringed instrument).
