Having already spent almost twenty years on the cutting edge of modern rock percussion, Bill Bruford formed Earthworks in 1986 as a deliberate return to his roots in jazz. Drawing in the brightest young talent on the UK, he encouraged the use of Rock technology with jazz sensibility – the hallmark of Earthworks’ stylish approach.
This latest line-up includes Patrick Clahar on saxophone, Steve Hamilton on piano, Mark Hodgson on acoustic bass, and Bill Bruford himself on drums.
".. agile, inspired post-bop tunes... t he future of British jazz doesn’t have to be the soul-hip hop melange of recent Courtney Pine." The London Times 13/1/01
