With David Miles on double bass and Andy Tween of Drums
Entertainment with a hint of the days of burlesque when nothing was ever quite as serious as to day. Music was live and full of melody and lyrics written by showbiz legends like Rodgers & Hammerstein, Cole Porter and Irving Berlin. The Japanese element is pure 'Hollywood' when a film was never so important as the people in it and the plot never got in the way of a good song. Ragtime, Japanese pop, romantic ballads, jazz...a pot pourri of styles conjuring up visions of the days of lounge bars, smoky rooms and good times around the corner if only the dice fell the right way and the cops didn't raid the gambling den. "Play it again Sam!"
