"Weaving a Pattern"
Of Philips Design & Research Philippa studied textile design at both the Royal College of Art and the University of Brighton. It was at Brighton that she began her explorations into the development of new materials and technology-influenced textile designs, and began exploring the sensibilities of new technological textiles and creating digital detail. In 1998, Philippa, whilst at the RCA started working in the wearables team at Philips Design and Research. Since then she has been instrumental in the introduction of new softer skills of textile design techniques, bringing in other textile designers to include knitwear and embroidery into Philips Design and Research.
