"ON UNDISCIPLINED ART"
undisciplined art = art that does not belong to any discipline in particular and takes place in spaces that are not specially meant for art, in situations that have nothing to do with art.
This is a lecture about generalists in the art, who make work for situations where art is needed, where the chosen principles of the work and the way the work will be transmitted to an audience is specific and different for each occasion.
In the lecture Lino Hellings will take you through her own history, backward in time: working as an artist in city planning, before working on art in public spaces, before that working in DOGTROEP (AMSTERDAM), a visual theatre group, as performer, designer and musician.
She will tell you about her recent research in undisciplined art in the Netherlands: ten examples and some new theory.
