January 2003 saw the release of Eric Bibb’s latest album, Too Much Stuff, featuring a splendid variety of root music aspects, including folk, blues, country and jazz. His message is one of personal experience, awareness and appreciation of life, while the overall sound has an Americana feel.
Eric Bibb has been around the world paying his dues and absorbing musical influences. From Africa, through Europe, to the Mississippi Delta, this acoustic guitarist and singer appears to be heir to the roots-blues throne created by Taj Mahal, who is a big fan himself.
Bibb has released six albums, been recognised with a Grammy Nomination and 4 WC Handy Nominations, has appeared on Jools Holland Later show (as well as his double-platinum-selling album Small World, Big Band), and both the Glastonbury and Cambridge Festivals.
A performance by Eric Bibb is an enriching experience – both musically and spiritually. Purveying a beautifully realised and deftly accomplished, soulful and gospel infused folk-blues, Eric has no problem melding a traditional rootsy American style with a subtle contemporary sensibility.
