Live music, films and projections with a performance of vintage Tristram Cary electronic work, Trios from 1971.
A celebration of music by Tristram Cary, distinguished composer and pioneer of electronic music, making a rare visit from his home in Australia to introduce film screenings and a live performance of his work. His credits include music for Dr. Who in the 1960s and early 70s, BBC tv and radio programmes, many feature film soundtracks including work for Hammer and Ealing, music for Expo 67, and work with EMS to design Britain’s first voltage controlled synthesisers.
There will also be a display of electronic music artifacts relating to Tristram Carey and his work with EMS, including the prototype VCS3 synthesiser.
