Full Circle: Voices in Revolution
A cappella activists Hullabaloo bring you a riotous feast of radical sound.
Full Circle is a revolutionary choral performance. A passionate song and story cycle of protest and celebration reflecting on and rejoicing in FREEDOM - from the political to the personal. Featuring inspirational songs and moving testimony from within the quire and around the world, as well as body percussion, ensemble choreography and the now famous 'a cappella radio', Full Circle is an audiovisual treat not to be missed!
Hullabaloo is a fun, funky and feisty Brighton quire. It currently has over 100 members and is open to anyone with a passion for song. Part of the natural voice network - 'singing is your birthright' - there is no audition and no need to be able to read music. There are no age restrictions and Hullabaloo has had members aged from 8 to 80, singing everything from doo-wop to hip hop, folk to funk, as well as innovative vocal music by contemporary composers.
The quire is led by Kirsty Martin, a choral activist with an inclusive teaching style that achieves amazing results in a fun and relatively pain-free way! The sense of camaraderie created is reflected in the singing.
Hullabaloo currently meets on Monday evenings at Gloucester Place Baptist Church, Gloucester Place, Brighton. Every term builds towards a performance (which is optional but an empowering experience). Each term starts with two or three open sessions where you can try it out for a one-off fee before committing yourself. Summer term starts on 14 May. For details, or to contact the quire, see www.hullabaloobrighton.org.uk. Meanwhile, come and experience Hullabaloo in full swing! £7.50 / £5.00 concs
